CHARACTER Taken from the HOLY BIBLE: NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (C) 1978 by the New York Bible Society, used by permission of Zondervan Bible Publishers. GEN 6:9 This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. DEU 7:6 For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. 14:2 for you are a people holy to the LORD your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the LORD has chosen you to be his treasured possession. 1KI 3:6 Solomon answered, "You have shown great kindness to your servant, my father David, because he was faithful to you and righteous and upright in heart. You have continued this great kindness to him and have given him a son to sit on his throne this very day. PSA 4:3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him. 15:2 He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart 34:2 My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. 37:26 They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed. 119:1 Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. PRO 16:19 Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud. 21 The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words promote instruction. 28:1 The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. ISA 29:19 Once more the humble will rejoice in the LORD; the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. 32:8 But the noble man makes noble plans, and by noble deeds he stands. 54:13 All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children's peace. 57:15 For this is what the high and lofty One says--he who lives forever, whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. 60:21 Then will all your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor. 66:2 Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?" declares the LORD. "This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word. EZE 20:43 There you will remember your conduct and all the actions by which you have defiled yourselves, and you will loathe yourselves for all the evil you have done. MAL 3:16 Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name. MAT 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. LUK 1:6 Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord's commandments and regulations blamelessly. 2:25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 12:37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. JOH 1:47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, "Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false." 10:3 The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. ACT 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 8:2 Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. 10:2 He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. 22:12 "A man named Ananias came to see me. He was a devout observer of the law and highly respected by all the Jews living there. ROM 8:14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 16:19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. 2CO 1:12 Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God. We have done so not according to worldly wisdom but according to God's grace. 2:17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 6:8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; 9:13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. EPH 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. PHI 2:15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe COL 1:4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints-- 2:5 For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how orderly you are and how firm your faith in Christ is. 12 having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead. 1TH 4:9 Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. TIT 2:14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. HEB 2:4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. 1PE 1:14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 5:5 Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." 2PE 2:9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment. 1JO 2:27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him. 3:3 Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. REV 17:14 They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers."
