                             INFIDELITY TO GOD

GEN 3:1  Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the 
LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not 
eat from any tree in the garden'?"

EXO 5:2  Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey him and let 
Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go."

EXO 14:11  They said to Moses, "Was it because there were no graves in 
Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by 
bringing us out of Egypt?

EXO 17:7  And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites 
quarreled and because they tested the LORD saying, "Is the LORD among us or 
not?"

NUM 15:30  "'But anyone who sins defiantly, whether native-born or alien, 
blasphemes the LORD, and that person must be cut off from his people.

DEU 29:19  When such a person hears the words of this oath, he invokes a 
blessing on himself and therefore thinks, "I will be safe, even though I 
persist in going my own way." This will bring disaster on the watered land 
as well as the dry.

DEU 29:20  The LORD will never be willing to forgive him; his wrath and 
zeal will burn against that man. All the curses written in this book will 
fall upon him, and the LORD will blot out his name from under heaven.

DEU 32:15  Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, he became heavy 
and sleek. He abandoned the God who made him and rejected the Rock his 
Savior.

1KI 20:28  The man of God came up and told the king of Israel, "This is 
what the LORD says: 'Because the Arameans think the LORD is a god of the 
hills and not a god of the valleys, I will deliver this vast army into your 
hands, and you will know that I am the LORD.'"

1KI 22:24  Then Zedekiah son of Kenaanah went up and slapped Micaiah in the 
face. "Which way did the spirit from the LORD go when he went from me to 
speak to you?" he asked.

2KI 2:23  From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the 
road, some youths came out of the town and jeered at him. "Go on up, you 
baldhead!" they said. "Go on up, you baldhead!"

2CH 30:6  At the king's command, couriers went throughout Israel and Judah 
with letters from the king and from his officials, which read: "People of 
Israel, return to the LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, that he 
may return to you who are left, who have escaped from the hand of the kings 
of Assyria.

2CH 30:10  The couriers went from town to town in Ephraim and Manasseh, as 
far as Zebulun, but the people scorned and ridiculed them.

2CH 32:15  Now do not let Hezekiah deceive you and mislead you like this. 
Do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to 
deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my fathers. How much less 
will your god deliver you from my hand!"

2CH 36:16  But they mocked God's messengers, despised his words and scoffed 
at his prophets until the wrath of the LORD was aroused against his people 
and there was no remedy.

JOB 15:25  because he shakes his fist at God and vaunts himself against the 
Almighty,

JOB 15:26  defiantly charging against him with a thick, strong shield.

JOB 21:14  Yet they say to God, 'Leave us alone! We have no desire to know 
your ways.

JOB 21:15  Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we 
gain by praying to him?'

JOB 22:13  Yet you say, 'What does God know? Does he judge through such 
darkness?

JOB 22:14  Thick clouds veil him, so he does not see us as he goes about in 
the vaulted heavens.'

JOB 22:17  They said to God, 'Leave us alone! What can the Almighty do to 
us?'

JOB 34:7  What man is like Job, who drinks scorn like water?

JOB 34:9  For he says, 'It profits a man nothing when he tries to please 
God.'

JOB 34:17  Can he who hates justice govern? Will you condemn the just and 
mighty One?

JOB 34:18  Is he not the One who says to kings, 'You are worthless,' and to 
nobles, 'You are wicked,'

JOB 34:19  who shows no partiality to princes and does not favor the rich 
over the poor, for they are all the work of his hands?

JOB 34:33  Should God then reward you on your terms, when you refuse to 
repent? You must decide, not I; so tell me what you know.

JOB 35:3  Yet you ask him, 'What profit is it to me, and what do I gain by 
not sinning?'

JOB 36:23  Who has prescribed his ways for him, or said to him, 'You have 
done wrong'?

PSA 1:1  Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked 
or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

PSA 3:2  Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him." Selah

PSA 4:6  Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?" Let the light of your 
face shine upon us, O LORD.

PSA 10:11  He says to himself, "God has forgotten; he covers his face and 
never sees."

PSA 12:3  May the LORD cut off all flattering lips and every boastful 
tongue

PSA 12:4  that says, "We will triumph with our tongues; we own our 
lips--who is our master?"

PSA 14:1  The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, 
their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.

PSA 42:3  My tears have been my food day and night, while men say to me all 
day long, "Where is your God?"

PSA 50:21  These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was 
altogether like you. But I will rebuke you and accuse you to your face.

PSA 59:7  See what they spew from their mouths--they spew out swords from 
their lips, and they say, "Who can hear us?"

PSA 64:5  They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding 
their snares; they say, "Who will see them?"

PSA 73:11  They say, "How can God know? Does the Most High have knowledge?"

PSA 78:19  They spoke against God, saying, "Can God spread a table in the 
desert?

PSA 94:7  They say, "The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed."

PSA 94:8  Take heed, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when 
will you become wise?

PSA 94:9  Does he who implanted the ear not hear? Does he who formed the 
eye not see?

PSA 106:24  Then they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe his 
promise.

PRO 1:22  "How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long 
will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

PRO 3:34  He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble.

PRO 9:12  If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a 
mocker, you alone will suffer."

PRO 14:6  The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes 
easily to the discerning.

PRO 19:29  Penalties are prepared for mockers, and beatings for the backs 
of fools.

PRO 24:9  The schemes of folly are sin, and men detest a mocker.

ISA 3:8  Jerusalem staggers, Judah is falling; their words and deeds are 
against the LORD, defying his glorious presence.

ISA 5:18  Woe to those who draw sin along with cords of deceit, and 
wickedness as with cart ropes,

ISA 5:19  to those who say, "Let God hurry, let him hasten his work so we 
may see it. Let it approach, let the plan of the Holy One of Israel come, 
so we may know it."

ISA 5:24  Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass 
sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow 
away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the LORD Almighty and 
spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel.

ISA 5:25  Therefore the LORD'S anger burns against his people; his hand is 
raised and he strikes them down. The mountains shake, and the dead bodies 
are like refuse in the streets. Yet for all this, his anger is not turned 
away, his hand is still upraised.

ISA 10:15  Does the ax raise itself above him who swings it, or the saw 
boast against him who uses it? As if a rod were to wield him who lifts it 
up, or a club brandish him who is not wood!

ISA 28:9  "Who is it he is trying to teach? To whom is he explaining his 
message? To children weaned from their milk, to those just taken from the 
breast?

ISA 28:10  For it is: Do and do, do and do, rule on rule, rule on rule; a 
little here, a little there."

ISA 28:14  Therefore hear the word of the LORD, you scoffers who rule this 
people in Jerusalem.

ISA 28:15  You boast, "We have entered into a covenant with death, with the 
grave we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it 
cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding 
place."

ISA 28:17  I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the 
plumb line; hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie, and water will 
overflow your hiding place.

ISA 28:18  Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with 
the grave will not stand. When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by, you will 
be beaten down by it.

ISA 28:19  As often as it comes it will carry you away; morning after 
morning, by day and by night, it will sweep through." The understanding of 
this message will bring sheer terror.

ISA 28:20  The bed is too short to stretch out on, the blanket too narrow 
to wrap around you.

ISA 28:21  The LORD will rise up as he did at Mount Perazim, he will rouse 
himself as in the Valley of Gibeon--to do his work, his strange work, and 
perform his task, his alien task.

ISA 28:22  Now stop your mocking, or your chains will become heavier; the 
Lord, the LORD Almighty, has told me of the destruction decreed against the 
whole land.

ISA 29:15  Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the 
LORD, who do their work in darkness and think, "Who sees us? Who will 
know?"

ISA 29:16  You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be 
like the clay! Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, "He did not 
make me"? Can the pot say of the potter, "He knows nothing"?

ISA 29:20  The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all 
who have an eye for evil will be cut down--

ISA 45:9  "Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker, to him who is but a 
potsherd among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the 
potter, 'What are you making?' Does your work say, 'He has no hands'?

ISA 45:10  Woe to him who says to his father, 'What have you begotten?' or 
to his mother, 'What have you brought to birth?'

ISA 47:10  You have trusted in your wickedness and have said, 'No one sees 
me.' Your wisdom and knowledge mislead you when you say to yourself, 'I am, 
and there is none besides me.'

ISA 47:11  Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to 
conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off 
with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon 
you.

ISA 57:4  Whom are you mocking? At whom do you sneer and stick out your 
tongue? Are you not a brood of rebels, the offspring of liars?

ISA 57:11  "Whom have you so dreaded and feared that you have been false to 
me, and have neither remembered me nor pondered this in your hearts? Is it 
not because I have long been silent that you do not fear me?

JER 2:31  "You of this generation, consider the word of the LORD: "Have I 
been a desert to Israel or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say, 
'We are free to roam; we will come to you no more'?

JER 5:12  They have lied about the LORD; they said, "He will do nothing! No 
harm will come to us; we will never see sword or famine.

JER 17:15  They keep saying to me, "Where is the word of the LORD? Let it 
now be fulfilled!"

JER 48:42  Moab will be destroyed as a nation because she defied the LORD.

JER 50:24  I set a trap for you, O Babylon, and you were caught before you 
knew it; you were found and captured because you opposed the LORD.

JER 50:29  "Summon archers against Babylon, all those who draw the bow. 
Encamp all around her; let no one escape. Repay her for her deeds; do to 
her as she has done. For she has defied the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.

LAM 1:7  In the days of her affliction and wandering Jerusalem remembers 
all the treasures that were hers in days of old. When her people fell into 
enemy hands, there was no one to help her. Her enemies looked at her and 
laughed at her destruction.

EZE 9:9  He answered me, "The sin of the house of Israel and Judah is 
exceedingly great; the land is full of bloodshed and the city is full of 
injustice. They say, 'The LORD has forsaken the land; the LORD does not 
see.'

EZE 9:10  So I will not look on them with pity or spare them, but I will 
bring down on their own heads what they have done."

EZE 12:22  "Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of 
Israel: 'The days go by and every vision comes to nothing'?

EZE 18:2  "What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land 
of Israel: "'The fathers eat sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set 
on edge'?

EZE 18:29  Yet the house of Israel says, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' 
Are my ways unjust, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are unjust?

EZE 20:49  Then I said, "Ah, Sovereign LORD! They are saying of me, 'Isn't 
he just telling parables?'"

EZE 33:20  Yet, O house of Israel, you say, 'The way of the Lord is not 
just.' But I will judge each of you according to his own ways."

EZE 33:30  "As for you, son of man, your countrymen are talking together 
about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, saying to each 
other, 'Come and hear the message that has come from the LORD.'

EZE 36:2  This is what the Sovereign LORD says: The enemy said of you, 
"Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession."'

DAN 3:15  Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, 
harp, pipes and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and 
worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will 
be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to 
rescue you from my hand?"

DAN 8:25  He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself 
superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand 
against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human 
power.

HOS 7:5  On the day of the festival of our king the princes become inflamed 
with wine, and he joins hands with the mockers.

HOS 7:13  Woe to them, because they have strayed from me! Destruction to 
them, because they have rebelled against me! I long to redeem them but they 
speak lies against me.

HOS 7:15  I trained them and strengthened them, but they plot evil against 
me.

AMO 5:18  Woe to you who long for the day of the LORD! Why do you long for 
the day of the LORD? That day will be darkness, not light.

AMO 7:16  Now then, hear the word of the LORD. You say, "'Do not prophesy 
against Israel, and stop preaching against the house of Isaac.'

MIC 7:10  Then my enemy will see it and will be covered with shame, she who 
said to me, "Where is the LORD your God?" My eyes will see her downfall; 
even now she will be trampled underfoot like mire in the streets.

ZEP 1:12  At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish those 
who are complacent, who are like wine left on its dregs, who think, 'The 
LORD will do nothing, either good or bad.'

MAL 1:7  "You place defiled food on my altar. "But you ask, 'How have we 
defiled you?' "By saying that the LORD'S table is contemptible.

MAL 3:13  "You have said harsh things against me," says the LORD. "Yet you 
ask, 'What have we said against you?'

MAL 3:14  "You have said, 'It is futile to serve God. What did we gain by 
carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the LORD 
Almighty?

MAT 12:24  But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "It is only by 
Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons."

MAT 25:24  "Then the man who had received the one talent came. 'Master,' he 
said, 'I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown 
and gathering where you have not scattered seed.

MAT 25:25  So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground.

MAT 25:26  "His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that 
I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?

MAT 25:27  Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the 
bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with 
interest.

MAT 27:39  Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads

MAT 27:40  and saying, "You who are going to destroy the temple and build 
it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the 
Son of God!"

MAT 27:41  In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and 
the elders mocked him.

MAT 27:43  He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he 
said, 'I am the Son of God.'"

MAT 27:44  In the same way the robbers who were crucified with him also

Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.

ACT 17:32  When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them 
sneered, but others said, "We want to hear you again on this subject."

ACT 23:8  (The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, and that there 
are neither angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.)

ROM 9:20  But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is 
formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?'"

ROM 9:21  Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump 
of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

HEB 10:29  How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be 
punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an 
unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has 
insulted the Spirit of grace?

2PE 2:1  But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there 
will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive 
heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift 
destruction on themselves.

2PE 3:3  First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers 
will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.

JUD 1:4  For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have 
secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace 
of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only 
Sovereign and Lord.

JUD 1:15  to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the 
ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words 
ungodly sinners have spoken against him."

JUD 1:18  They said to you, "In the last times there will be scoffers who 
will follow their own ungodly desires."
