LORD'S SUPPER MAT 26:17 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?" MAT 26:18 He replied, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.'" MAT 26:19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover. MAT 26:20 When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve. MAT 26:21 And while they were eating, he said, "I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me." MAT 26:22 They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, "Surely not I, Lord?" MAT 26:23 Jesus replied, "The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me. MAT 26:24 The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born." MAT 26:25 Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, "Surely not I, Rabbi?" Jesus answered, "Yes, it is you." MAT 26:26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." MAT 26:27 Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. MAT 26:28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. MAT 26:29 I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom." MAT 26:30 When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. MAR 14:22 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take it; this is my body." MAR 14:23 Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, and they all drank from it. MAR 14:24 "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many," he said to them. LUK 13:26 "Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.' LUK 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." LUK 22:20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. JOH 13:1 It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love. JOH 13:2 The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus. JOH 13:3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; JOH 13:4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. ACT 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. ACT 2:46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, ACT 2:47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. ACT 20:7 On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. 1CO 10:16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? 1CO 10:17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf. NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (C) 1973, 1978, 1984 INTERNATIONAL BIBLE SOCIETY 1CO 10:21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons. 1CO 10:22 Are we trying to arouse the Lord's jealousy? Are we stronger than he? 1CO 11:20 When you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper you eat, 1CO 11:21 for as you eat, each of you goes ahead without waiting for anybody else. One remains hungry, another gets drunk. 1CO 11:22 Don't you have homes to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? Certainly not! 1CO 11:23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 1CO 11:24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 1CO 11:25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 1CO 11:26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. 1CO 11:27 Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 1CO 11:28 A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 1CO 11:29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. 1CO 11:30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. 1CO 11:31 But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. 1CO 11:32 When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world. 1CO 11:33 So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for each other. 1CO 11:34 If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you meet together it may not result in judgment. And when I come I will give further directions. Bible Bulletin Board internet: www.biblebb.com modem: 609-324-9187 Box 318 Columbus, NJ 08022 ....online since 1986 Sysop/Webmaster: Tony Capoccia
