THANKFULNESS Taken from the HOLY BIBLE: NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (C) 1978 by the New York Bible Society, used by permission of Zondervan Bible Publishers. 1CH 16:4 He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, to make petition, to give thanks, and to praise the LORD, the God of Israel: 7 That day David first committed to Asaph and his associates this psalm of thanks to the LORD: 23:30 They were also to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD. They were to do the same in the evening 29:6 Then the leaders of families, the officers of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and the officials in charge of the king's work gave willingly. 7 They gave toward the work on the temple of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze and a hundred thousand talents of iron. 8 Any who had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the temple of the LORD in the custody of Jehiel the Gershonite. 9 The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the LORD. David the king also rejoiced greatly. 10 David praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, "Praise be to you, O LORD, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. 11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. 12 Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. 13 Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. 14 "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. 2CH 31:2 Hezekiah assigned the priests and Levites to divisions--each of them according to their duties as priests or Levites--to offer burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, to minister, to give thanks and to sing praises at the gates of the LORD'S dwelling. NEH 11:17 Mattaniah son of Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, the director who led in thanksgiving and prayer; Bakbukiah, second among his associates; and Abda son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun. 12:31 I had the leaders of Judah go up on top of the wall. I also assigned two large choirs to give thanks. One was to proceed on top of the wall to the right, toward the Dung Gate. 40 The two choirs that gave thanks then took their places in the house of God; so did I, together with half the officials, PSA 18:49 Therefore I will praise you among the nations, O LORD; I will sing praises to your name. 30:4 Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name. 12 that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever. 35:18 I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people I will praise you. 50:14 Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, 69:30 I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. 75:1 We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your Name is near; men tell of your wonderful deeds. 92:1 It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High, 95:2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. 97:12 Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name. 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 105:1 Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. 106:1 Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. 107:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. 116:17 I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the LORD. 136:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever. 2 Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. 3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever. DAN 2:23 I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king." 6:10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. MAT 11:25 At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26:27 Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. LUK 18:1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. JOH 6:11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. 11:41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. ACT 27:35 After he said this, he took some bread and gave thanks to God in front of them all. Then he broke it and began to eat. ROM 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 6:17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. 7:23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. 14:6 He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7 For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. 1CO 1:4 I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. 15:57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2CO 1:11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. 8:16 I thank God, who put into the heart of Titus the same concern I have for you. 9:11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! EPH 1:16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. PHI 1:3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. COL 1:3 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints-- 5 the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel 6 that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth. 2:7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 1TH 1:2 We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. 2:13 And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe. 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 2TH 1:3 We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing. 1TI 1:12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service. 2:1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- 4:3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 2TI 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. PHM 1:4 I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, HEB 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that confess his name. REV 4:9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 7:11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: "Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!" 11:16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying: "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.
