WATCHFUL

EXO 23:13  "Be careful to do everything I have said to you. Do not invoke 
the names of other gods; do not let them be heard on your lips.

34:12  Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land 
where you are going, or they will be a snare among you.

DEU 4:9  Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not 
forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as 
long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after 
them.

23  Be careful not to forget the covenant of the LORD your God that he made 
with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the 
LORD your God has forbidden.

11:16  Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other 
gods and bow down to them.

12:13  Be careful not to sacrifice your burnt offerings anywhere you 
please.

27:9  Then Moses and the priests, who are Levites, said to all Israel, "Be 
silent, O Israel, and listen! You have now become the people of the LORD 
your God.

JOS 22:5  But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that 
Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk 
in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him 
with all your heart and all your soul."

23:11  So be very careful to love the LORD your God.

1KI 2:3  and observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in his ways, and 
keep his decrees and commands, his laws and requirements, as written in the 
Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go,

8:25  "Now LORD, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father the 
promises you made to him when you said, 'You shall never fail to have a man 
to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons are careful in 
all they do to walk before me as you have done.'

2CH 19:7  Now let the fear of the LORD be upon you. Judge carefully, for 
with the LORD our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery."

NEH 4:9  But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet 
this threat.

JOB 36:18  Be careful that no one entices you by riches; do not let a large 
bribe turn you aside.

19  Would your wealth or even all your mighty efforts sustain you so you 
would not be in distress?

20  Do not long for the night, to drag people away from their homes.

21  Beware of turning to evil, which you seem to prefer to affliction.

PSA 39:1  I said, "I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will 
put a muzzle on my mouth as long as the wicked are in my presence."

102:7  I lie awake; I have become like a bird alone on a roof.

119:9  How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your 
word.

141:3  Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my 
lips.

PRO 4:23  Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of 
life.

25  Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you.

26  Make level paths for your feet and take only ways that are firm.

8:34  Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, 
waiting at my doorway.

16:17  The highway of the upright avoids evil; he who guards his way guards 
his life.

28:26  He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is 
kept safe.

NAH 2:1  An attacker advances against you, Nineveh. Guard the fortress, 
watch the road, brace yourselves, marshal all your strength!

MAL 2:15  Has not the LORD made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. 
And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in 
your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.

MAT 6:1  "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to 
be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in 
heaven.

16:6  "Be careful," Jesus said to them. "Be on your guard against the yeast 
of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

18:10  "See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I 
tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in 
heaven.

24:4  Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you.

25:13  "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

26:40  Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could 
you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.

41  "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit 
is willing, but the body is weak."

MAR 4:24  "Consider carefully what you hear," he continued. "With the 
measure you use, it will be measured to you--and even more.

13:9  "You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local 
councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand 
before governors and kings as witnesses to them.

21  At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 
'Look, there he is!' do not believe it.

22  For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and 
miracles to deceive the elect--if that were possible.

23  So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.

32  "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, 
nor the Son, but only the Father.

33  Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.

34  It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants 
in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to 
keep watch.

35  "Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the 
house will come back--whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the 
rooster crows, or at dawn.

36  If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.

37  What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!'"

LUK 11:35  See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.

12:15  Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds 
of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his 
possessions."

35  "Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning,

36  like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so 
that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.

37  It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching 
when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will 
have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them.

38  It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even 
if he comes in the second or third watch of the night.

39  But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour 
the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.

40  You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour 
when you do not expect him."

ACT 20:28  Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy 
Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he 
bought with his own blood.

29  I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and 
will not spare the flock.

30  Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order 
to draw away disciples after them.

31  So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped 
warning each of you night and day with tears.

ROM 11:21  For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare 
you either.

13:11  And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for 
you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than 
when we first believed.

1CO 7:29  What I mean, brothers, is that the time is short. From now on 
those who have wives should live as if they had none;

30  those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they 
were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep;

31  those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For 
this world in its present form is passing away.

9:27  No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached 
to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

10:12  So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't 
fall!

11:28  A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and 
drinks of the cup.

16:13  Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be 
strong.

GAL 6:1  Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual 
should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.

EPH 5:15  Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise,

6:18  And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and 
requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all 
the saints.

PHI 3:2  Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators 
of the flesh.

4:5  Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

COL 4:2  Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

17  Tell Archippus: "See to it that you complete the work you have received 
in the Lord."

1TH 5:4  But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should 
surprise you like a thief.

6  So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert 
and self-controlled.

21  Test everything. Hold on to the good.

1TI 4:16  Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because 
if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

2TI 4:5  But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the 
work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

HEB 2:1  We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have 
heard, so that we do not drift away.

3:12  See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart 
that turns away from the living God.

12:15  See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter 
root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

1PE 1:13  Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set 
your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

17  Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live 
your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.

4:7  The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-
controlled so that you can pray.

5:8  Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like 
a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

2PE 1:19  And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you 
will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, 
until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

3:17  Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your 
guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and 
fall from your secure position.

1JO 5:18  We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one 
who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.

2JO 1:8  Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that 
you may be rewarded fully.

JUD 1:20  But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy 
faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.

21  Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord 
Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

REV 3:2  Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have 
not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God.

3  Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and 
repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will 
not know at what time I will come to you.

11  I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take 
your crown.

16:15  "Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and 
keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully 
exposed."
