Questioner

I read the answer you gave on restoring a pastor. What if the Pastor's wife was the one caught in adultery? If she gives a public confession and repents can the pastor be restored?

Answer

I would think that there would have to be a time period, where she could demonstrate faithfulness and her husband could demonstrate that he has his family (especially his marriage) in order.  Hardly is it always the wife's complete fault for adultery, for often there has been neglect or problems with the husband that contributed to the problem.  He should have seen it coming.

I would doubt that the pastor could be, or should be, restored at the original church, for he (his family) is not above reproach.  Maybe in a very different location, after a number of years of faithfulness to each other, will he be able to seek to enter into the pastorate again.
