Questioner

I just read the article on Condemned and Crucified. I'm not looking for an argument but it can't be anything less than insane thinking that somehow God and/or the universe and/or humanity are somehow brought back into harmony by torturing even one single being in the universe.   To call God beautiful and wonderful after knowing he allowed one being to be unmercifully tortured when common sense says simple loving forgiveness would make more sense can be nothing more than insanity. Especially when you factor in unconditional love versus conditional love.   This is more proof to me of controlling forces having doctored the bible for public consumption. Hiding under the banner of 'God inspired the whole bible and so it is pure' and 'anybody talking against it is satanically deceived'.  This is the perfect crime.

Answer

Obviously you don't understand the perfect justice and holiness of God.

God cannot just forgive any offense, not even the slightest sin without the shedding of blood. God made the rules in the beginning and said that if we sin we must die--both physically and spiritually [Genesis 2:17]. Each sin is a "slap in the face of a Holy God" and justice must be done--there must be a payment for that sin--someone must pay for the offense.

Where God's loving grace and forgiveness comes in, is that He Himself, sent His Son Jesus Christ (also God) down to earth to put on human flesh and live a perfect sinless life for 33 years and then crucified Him to pay for the sins of mankind.  Yes, God poured out His extreme wrath on the God-man Jesus, and in that tremendous sacrifice God was satisfied that the sins of those who would accept Christ's sacrifice would be forgiven--and that is pure grace and love to us wicked sinners.

Jesus' perfect love was shown by willingly submitting to the suffering and shame of the cross.  All we have to do to receive total and eternal forgiveness for our sins is to:

1. Repent of our sins.

2. Believe that Jesus is who He claims to be.

3. Submit to His Lordship.

For those who chose to reject the offer of salvation from God through the shed blood of Christ, they must be thrown into the fires to be tortured for all of eternity because of their sins [Revelation 20:15].

Now, I don't believe that you will accept this truth, for you are using your own worldly wisdom (your "common sense," as you said) to say that God's very own Word (The Bible) is not true and thereby continue to justify your sins, for which you will spend eternity in hell.   "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned."  [1 Corinthians 2:14]
