Questioner

Is the National Day of Prayer an ecumenical event? What is you view on it?

Answer

I personally avoid praying with unbelievers unless they are praying to God for salvation.  Other than that I feel that when we pray with them, then we give them more false assurance that God is hearing their prayers, which is not true. I will pray for them, but not with them. God reminds us in His Word,

2 Corinthians 6:14, "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"

What God is saying here is that we are not to be "joined together" in any spiritual endeavor with unbelievers, and prayer is certainly a spiritual endeavor.
