How can I overcome a bad habit? |
| Hair [01] |
"In First Corinthians, where they talk about women are supposed to
have something on their head when they are praying and whatever. Why doesn't that pertain to today?" |
| Hair [02] | In 1st Corinthians, the 11th chapter, starting from verse three on to about 16, we talked about a man not covering his head in church and a woman covering her head, now I don’t know whether this is Jewish tradition, in the context, it just doesn’t appear that that is the case here. |
| Halloween [01] |
"How should
Christians celebrate holidays such as Halloween?" |
| Halloween [02] |
Is there anything wrong with children going out ‘Trick or Treating’, like Halloween, and if so, what specifically is bad in it, and what do the MacArthur kids do? And, should Grace get involved in any alternatives? |
| Hatred |
What does hate mean, when God says He "hates Jacob?" Does He actually hate
the person or does He hate what the person does? |

Healing [04]
8/28/04 |
In Matthew 8:17, in the context of Jesus’ healing ministry, it says, “In order that what was spoken through Isaiah, the prophet, might be fulfilled, saying, He Himself took our infirmities and carried away our diseases.” Now, I understand that’s supposed to be a quotation of Isaiah 53, like around 4, 5, and 6, if I’m correct. But, when I read that, it says, “ He was pierced through for our transgressions and He was crushed for our iniquities.” Now, when I read it in the context of His healing ministry, I think, it’s talking about physical sickness and disease. When I read the Isaiah 53 passage, it seems to be spiritual sin. That seems to be the context. And, usually, when I find the Old Testament quoted in the New Testament, it’s usually dead-on. It doesn’t seem to be the case in this situation. |
| Heart |
What does it
mean to love the Lord with all my heart? |
| Heaven [01] |
Can
the people in Heaven see what we are doing?
Do they know what we think? |
| Heaven [02] |
Once our
disembodied spirits go into heaven, would we be able to see events taking place
on the earth, such as the Great Tribulation and salvation of other souls? Once up there, would our prayers have any
more effect for the salvation of souls, once we have been freed from sin? |
| Heaven [03] |
I have a question for you regarding a book I just read by Earl Davies: Heaven
is a Far Better Place. The question is, is heaven an intermediate state or
is heaven an eternal state? |
| Heaven [04] |
When we a leave, when we depart from this earth, I know we are not given a new body right away, but are we in heaven? Those that are in heaven, do they know what’s taking place here on earth? |
| Heaven [05] |
Can Christians become too heavenly minded? |
| Heaven [06] |
In one of your heaven sermons, you were talking about how we’re going to “serve” up in heaven. You said something about, "If we’re faithful in what we do on earth, we’re going to have more of a capacity to be faithful in heaven." Well, I was wondering; the story about the talents, where you have these three guys and the master gives them talents and stuff…and one of them is the most faithful or something, and he goes out and gets lots more talents and comes back and the master loves him to death. So, I was wondering if it’s going to be that [way], when we have a greater capacity to be faithful in heaven, it’s going to be the same way, like, with the talents? |
| Heaven [07] | My question is from Luke 16 where you have Lazarus and the poor man and they’re shown in a place together, one in Abraham’s bosom and one in torment. My question is, was Lazarus or Old Testament believers in general in the fullest sense in heaven? Or did they have to wait until Christ died to gather them up? I say this because I heard something in your tape that you don’t believe in a sort of a holding tank, a “limbos." |
| Heaven [08] | The question I have has to do with John 14:2 where he is talking about (in the New American Standard), he’s talking about, "In my Father's house are many dwelling places." In the King James version it says "mansions" and I was just wondering is it "mansions" or "dwelling places"? |
| Heaven [09] | When a person dies anywhere from a child to an adult, assuming that they are Christian, and they enter into the presence of the Lord, are they the same age as far as their earthly age goes when they enter into heaven? |
| Hell |
What about Hell? |
| Help | I want to know if there is a place in the Bible that says, "God helps those who help themselves?" |
| Holiness [01] |
Are Christians really supposed to be holy? |
| Holiness [02] |
My
question comes from Ezekiel Chapter 44. There is one verse here that seems kind
of contradictory to what
God’s intending. God is speaking to Ezekiel and I am curious as to why He would
say this. In verse 44:19, it says, “And when they go out into the outer court
to the people, they shall put off their garments in which they have been
ministering and lay them in the holy chambers. Then they shall put on the other
garments, that they may not transmit holiness to the people with their
garments.” Now it seems to me that God would want the people to be holy, I
mean, that’s part of His desire, and yet here He says he doesn’t want holiness
transmitted. |
| Holiness [03] | I Timothy 5:4. It’s talking here about widows who would be serving in the church: “If any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to show piety at home, to requite [repay] their parents, for that’s good and acceptable before God.” What is piety? The question is, what does piety mean in this verse? |
| Holiness [04] | My question is about Romans 8. Apostle Paul teaches that there is no condemnation for those who are in Jesus Christ, and then he explains the life of the spirit and he assures that we have the victory in Christ. And, in verse 29, he shows that His purpose is to make us according to the image of His Son. And my question is, what could you share with us about how this verse has changed your life to have a personal holiness in this world that is completely contaminated by sin? |
| Holy Spirit [01] |
I have a question about the "works of the Spirit," from Judges
14:6, "The Spirit of the Lord came upon him mightily." My point is this, "the
Holy Spirit coming upon Samson," the question is [about] the Holy Spirit
indwelling people before Acts, chapter two. Also, I have another question referring to
the same thing, in the gospel of John, chapter 20:22, "He breathed on
them, and said, 'Receive ye the Holy Spirit,' and, only eleven of them received
Him. |
| Holy Spirit [02] |
What was the role of the Holy Spirit in Jesus' life and ministry? |
| Holy Spirit [03] | I have some questions with regard to some scriptural references to the presence of the Holy Spirit in the eternal state. I just want to know some references that I could look up. And what is His function? What is His ministry, if you will? |
| Holy Spirit [04] | How can a true work of the Holy Spirit be distinguished from that which is false? |
| Holy Spirit [05] | It’s my understanding that those who live by the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God, but those who’ve been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and marked by the Holy Spirit are God’s own. But, before the day of Pentecost, God gave his spirit only to certain, select individuals. So, I was wondering about the rest of the Old Testament saints, if they were regenerated or how, without the Holy Spirit; and if they weren’t regenerated, were they living in the flesh; and if they were living in the flesh, how were they saved? |
| Holy Spirit [06] |
What is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit? |
| Holy Spirit [07] |
What are the seven-fold Spirits of God? |
| Holy Spirit [08] |
I had a question about the Holy Spirit, the theology of it. I would like to know, what exactly was the difference between the Holy Spirit in the New Testament and the Old Testament? Why were only certain people given the Holy Spirit, and why did God take the Holy Spirit back from them? I notice in Psalm 51, David says, “Take not the Holy Spirit away from me.” How did that affect their ministry? How did that affect a believer if the Holy Spirit was taken from them? And, since we cannot lose our Salvation. Apparently, their salvation was not dependent upon the Holy Spirit at that time. |
| Holy Spirit [09] | In Matthew 12:31-32 it talks about the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and in Hebrews 6:4-6 it talks about “crucifying again the Son of God.” Can you explain the differences between and or similarities in those passages. How does the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit in Matthew twelve relate to Hebrews six? |
| Homosexuality [01] |
How can a physical sin be worse than the sin of Romans 1:21 of not honoring God? Isn't not honoring God a worse sin than homosexuality? |
| Homosexuality [02] | Does God consider the sin of homosexuality to be worse than the sin of fornication among heterosexuals? |
| Homosexuality [03] |
I was talking to my neighbors about homosexuality, and that God made male and female, and she said, “What about morphidites?” She has a friend, earlier in the girl’s life, she was a female, and, then, she decided that they had made the wrong decision, and she switched over to being a male. |
| Humility | How do you stay humble, and still use all the power that God has given you through the Holy Spirit? |
