| War [01] |
I have a friend who’s 20 and he’s worried about the draft. What he was wondering was and I’m interested too and if we’re Christians and we are not supposed to murder, [then] what does the Bible have to say about that? |
| War [02] |
Is there a commandment in the Bible that says that you have to fight for your country and in view of the political scene in the Middle East, lets say United Stated decided to send some troops into the Middle East for their interest in oil, for that reason. Would that be having to fight for your country? |
| War [03] | Does the Bible allow our government to wage war? |
| War [04] | Can a true Christian be involved physically and willingly in a war against other nations? |
| War [05] | In terms of how you’re following the ruler or the king or the president of a particular country, in terms of military stint or a war. I heard you were answering a question, once, and you were saying that being a Christian and a citizen of the United States, you have to follow its leader if it’s a war against whatever. But, if you would be a Cuban, also a Christian and a citizen, and you would see that it’s not a right cause, you would not go into this war. Now, how do you know whether it’s a right cause or wrong cause? |
| Widows |
In I Timothy, chapter 5, verses 9 and 10 it gives the
qualifications for the " widows indeed," it says in verse 10, "... if she has
brought up children..." Suppose that there is a lady that gets married and
cannot have children, so they decide to adopt a child and later on she becomes a
widow. She raised the child, but she couldn't have the child, would she be
qualified to be on this list? |
| Will of God [01] |
"How do I
know the Will of God for my life?" |
| Will of God [02] |
Could you please tell me how we can each know what God's special
plan is in our lives, in terms of how we can use our talents, or how we know
when we are using them in the right direction? |
| Will of God [03] |
|
| Will of God [04] |
How does a person making decisions know what is the will of God?
|
| Will of God [05] |
How can I make decisions consistent with God's will for my life? |
| Will of God [06] |
Can you elaborate on your principles for knowing exactly where God wants us and some patterns maybe we can follow to find that out for sure? |
| Will of God [07] |
I always hear that God helps those who help themselves and like you mentioned, you ought to do something, you shouldn't just be in limbo. How do you draw the line between the point where you are doing something that God can work on and where you're doing so much that it shows that you really don't have faith that He's going to answer your prayer? |
| Will of God [08] | If we make a decision in our lives and we desire to do His will, and our heart really wants to do His will, is it still possible to make the wrong decision? |
| Will of God [09] | If I wanted to be a missionary when I grew up, but it’s against God’s will, how will I know if it’s against God’s will? |
| Wine [01] |
Where do you stand on the wine issue and why? |
| Wine [02] |
What is the right Christian stand on drinking? |
| Wisdom |
What does Proverbs 24:3-4 mean? [Through wisdom is a house built; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.] |
| Witnessing [01] |
"When the
Jehovah Witnesses come or the Mormons should we be bold to these people [or
hide]?" |
| Witnessing [02] |
I would like to ask a question of Luke 8:16-18, "Now no
one, after lighting a lamp, covers it over with a container, or puts it under a
bed; but he puts it on a lamp stand, in order that those who come in may see the
light. For nothing is hidden, that shall not become evident; nor anything
secret, that shall not be known and come to light. Therefore take care how you
listen: for whoever has, to him shall more be given; and whoever does not have,
even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him." What does it mean? |
| Witnessing [03] |
I have a question in relation to Ezekiel, chapter three, God appoints Ezekiel as a watchman over the House of Israel, and He says in verses 18 and 19, "When I say to the wicked, 'You shall surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his inequity, but his blood I will require at your hand. Yet if you have warned the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered yourself." My question is, "If what way or any are these verses applicable to modern day believers in relation to our responsibility to tell unbelievers about the Gospel?" |
| Witnessing [04] |
We were trying to tell him about the Word of God and that it was real. He said, "Well that’s what you say. You know the only thing that’s real is what I could touch." My question is, when you are talking to people, trying to witness to people like that, what can you do? |
| Witnessing [05] |
Is it safe to say when you are witnessing to people to say that Christianity is not a religion, that religion is man trying to make himself presentable to God through his own means and his own actions and Christianity is a relationship with God, having no confidence in the flesh and putting all of your faith, hope and trust in Jesus Christ, Who was God in human flesh? |
| Witnessing [06] | What does Matthew 7:6 mean by not offering "that which is holy" to the dogs? |
| Witnessing [07] | I’ve got a friend who goes to school with me and she says she became a Christian up at camp when I went with her, but we were talking and she said she doesn’t want to tell people she’s a Christian. She says, if someone comes up and asks her, she’ll tell them. You know, my parents have always told me to stick out in a crowd. Show them we’re Christians letting Christ shine through us, but she said she doesn’t want to do this and she doesn’t have to, and, also, she doesn’t want to come to church and has no desire to be with Christians. She says, she can study the Bible by herself, and I don’t know what to do, I mean, I can’t really talk to her right now because she’ll deny everything I say. |
| Witnessing [08] | I have a next door neighbor who has a guy that's been coming over and working on his cars with him and the guy is a real weirdo, I mean he is about as far out in left field as you can possibly get with out getting back into right field. The problem is that the guy has the idea that he is God, which we obviously know is false. My question is, is there a procedure that you would recommend for me or my family in either trying to witness to this guy or would you recommend complete severance of any contact with him. |
| Witnessing [09] | I have some non-Christian friends, and I was wondering...they’re trying to seek God, but they’re afraid to take a stand for Jesus, and I was wondering if you could give me some advice on that? |
| Women [01] |
I’ve been involved in a couple of Bible studies where women have ended up
sharing throughout the time, so I did some studies on it. I was reading the
MacArthur I Corinthians commentary and I came to a sentence that I wanted you to
clarify for me. It says, “There are times in informal meetings and Bible studies
where it is entirely proper for men and women to share equally in exchanging
questions and insights.” |
| Women [02] | What is a woman's role if she is alone to minister to a group of men who need to be taught the Word of God. Is it permissible for her to teach them? |
| Women [03] | I got a controversial question on the gifts of teaching. 1 Corinthians 14:26-34. I have heard different interpretations of verse 34 where it says, “Let women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak...” My interpretation of what it's talking about, and correct me if I am wrong, is that they do not possess any of the gifts listed in verse 26, which are teaching and edifying gifts. Maybe, you can help me there. |
| Women [04] | 1 Timothy 2:12 says a woman cannot teach, but in a Bible study situation, what can they do? Can they share, or can they teach? |
| Women [05] | What does the Bible say about women elders? |
| Women [06] | A woman that I know talked to me about a situation where she rebuked a man. And, she was told by her Bible Study leader that that was inappropriate. Now, I think, in looking in Matthew 18, there’s no gender involved in there. Now, I want to know is it proper for a woman to be able to rebuke a man, and is it also proper for a woman to rebuke her husband? |
| Women [07] | I was wondering, how you feel about a woman being a pastor of a church as you are? |
| Women [08] | In regards to the church, the women’s role in the current church, and how the men are becoming effeminate and turning that role over to the women. |
| Women Preachers [01] |
Would you tell me why the Pentecostal churches use women pastors? |
| Women Preachers [02] |
My brother-in-law attends a church where a woman is the minister. Is this right? |
| Words of Knowledge |
How would you reply to a believer, in the Charismatic
movement, who agrees that revelation [new] cannot be added to Scripture, but
would still argue that God still gives "Words of Knowledge" in the church, for
direction as long as it falls in line with the Scripture? |
| Working Wives [01] |
Is it ok for a wife to work outside the home, and what are a wife's priorities? |
| Working Wives [02] |
In a Christian marriage, should the wife work? |
| Working Wives [03] |
My question is about your sermon on “How to be a Godly Mother” on 1 Samuel, you said in that sermon, that a woman’s duty, the highest duty would be not to leave her child or disrupt her routine in any way like in any way, like until the child is three. I was just wondering if you would feel that today’s woman would have to be that way, not to leave a child or not to leave it with a baby sitter? Also, I wondered how your family with your four children and your wife handled this? |
| Working Wives [04] | On Mother’s Day, you had given the sermon about the Proverbs 31 woman. And, I wanted to ask a question: If I had a daughter and she expressed a desire to pursue a professional career, like a medical career, something that was an extensive amount of education, would I, Biblically, should I, discourage her from that kind of pursuit, even if she displays a talent or interest or propensity? I’m wondering, if you think that that would be a futile, waste of time, or if, since this daughter might have a gift, why not encourage it. |
| Work | We have all heard the scripture, ‘He who will not work must not eat.’ What about in a godly family where there is single people living together, like in an apartment dwelling, and one of them is working full-time and the other is going to school full-time. Is it permissible, is it godly for one to support the other? |
| Works [01] |
"I want to ask why lots of people accept the Lord only when something drastic
happens in their lives?" |
|
Works [02] 1/15/06 |
I have a couple of verses that I struggle with; first one’s John 5:29, Jesus says, “And will come forth those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, and those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.” And then the other one is Romans 2:13, “For it is not the hearers of the law who are just before God, but the doers of the law who are justified.” I’ve just struggled at times to try to understand those in light of, like what R. C. Sproul talked about last night, justification by faith alone. How do you teach this? |
| Worship [01] |
One thing the [Church] body does and we do it together is worship. Would you explain two things? What worship is and why do we do it on Sunday? |
| Worship [02] |
Seeing that Christianity is the only true religion and God only accepts worship from a heart--a clean, pure heart (as the Psalms say over and over again: “clean hands and a pure heart”), why would you say it is that we’re constantly told even from the pulpit that we have wicked hearts? And if we don’t, if we do have new hearts, as the Bible teaches, could you clear that up for us? |
| Worship [03] |
What is true worship? |
